Shaping the Future of Digital Trust: Provenancefortrust at the European Hackathons Final

The Provenancefortrust initiative is proud to announce a major milestone: our program was successfully presented at the Grand Final of the European Hackathons in Brussels on October 20, 2025.

This prestigious event, organized by Google.org and ThinkYoung, was dedicated to a critical mission for 2025–2026: finding human-centered technological solutions to combat political misinformation and strengthen democratic resilience.

A Validation of Content Authenticity

Reaching the final is more than an achievement; it is a validation of the Provenancefortrust mission. Our presentation was delivered by the TrustMyContent team—our key partner specializing in content provenance labeling and the implementation of C2PA standards.

As media and public institutions face an era of synthetic media, our goal remains clear: to structure a collective response to the technical, legal, and societal challenges posed by AI-generated content.

6 Strategic Challenges for 2025–2026

To build a transparent digital ecosystem, Provenancefortrust is addressing six core pillars:

  1. Authentication & Trust Chain: Ensuring the "source of truth" remains unbroken from capture to publication.

  2. Copyright & Provenance Valorization: Protecting the economic and intellectual rights of creators.

  3. Certification & Labeling: Implementing clear, user-friendly indicators for verified content.

  4. AI Transparency & Compliance: Ensuring all tools meet the rigorous standards of the EU AI Act.

  5. Combating Typosquatting: Defending brand and institutional reputation against deceptive domains.

  6. Protection Against Scraping: Safeguarding proprietary data from unauthorized AI training models.

A Collaborative Movement for Integrity

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the TrustMyContent team for their brilliant performance, as well as to our fellow finalists and the winners. We are honored to be part of this innovative ecosystem alongside organizations like LaReponse.tech, Palumba.org, and the FZI Research Center for Information Technology.

The success of this final—supported by mentors like Guillaume Alvarez, Andrea Gerosa, and Karen Massin—underscores the urgent need for collaborative work in digital sovereignty.

Join us as we make provenance the new standard for digital transparency.
